FAMILY: Elizabeth Murray- Single Mom
HISTORY: Isabella's birth was a complete surprise to the "it" couple of a small-town high school in Pennsylvania. Matt Anderson was the typical popular jock and Elizabeth Murray was the preppy cheerleader. When Isabella was born, Matt broke things off with Elizabeth, saying that she and their daughter would only hold him back from his dreams as a professional football player. What he didn't realize was that it was his own irresponsibility that would hold him back. During his second year of college, he was forced to drop out due to his constant skipping of practices and drinking habits. Elizabeth Murray on the other hand, was determined to be a good Mother to her soon-to-be born daughter. Despite people suggesting to her to get an abortion, Elizabeth kept her child. The first thing she did once Isabella was born was to make sure Isabella would not be inheriting Matt's surename. Elizabeth now works as a psychiatrist and published a highly succesful self-help book for single mothers.

Isabella had trouble saying her own name when she was little. She would refer to herself as 'Izzy', and the nickname eventually stuck. She hates it when people call her Bella, especially after the Twilight fandom craze.

Despite not having a dad while growing up, Izzy had a fairly happy childhood. Her Mother's book was extremely succesful, so the Murray's never faced any financial problems. Izzy is a people-person, something she gets from her mom, who constantly works with people due to her job being a psychiatrist. Making friends and fitting in was never a challenge for Izzy.

Izzy looks up to her Mother very much. She sees it extremely important for a girl to be and strong and independent, without having to rely on a boy for anything. Sometimes her independence gets in the way of having a relationship with a boy, but Izzy doesn't really see the point in dating in Highschool anyways.

During her Freshman year, Izzy's mom published another book about overcoming the hardships of being a single mother. This book was even more succesful than the first, and Izzy's mom was constantly busy. Izzy was the first one to suggest a boarding school, because she felt bad that her mom couldn't take up several job opportunities. Izzy wanted her mom to do what she loved. Although Elizabeth didn't like the idea of sending her daughter away due to the close bond they had, she eventually reluctantly agreed to let Izzy go to the well renowned boarding school called Daze.

APPEARANCE: Standing at 5 ft 8, Izzy hit her growth spurt in the 8th grade, and was always taller than any other girl. However, she uses this to her advantage, especially when playing volleyball. She has always been slender and on the skinnier side, but not overly so. Izzy has hazel-green eyes that are often framed in a light outline of eyeliner. She tries to go for the more natural look without makeup, although she does use a lot of hair products. She hates her naturally curly hair and almost always straightens it. Izzy is often seen wearing pretty summer dresses paired with chic cardigans.
