HISTORY:Gerard, though born in America, grew up from the time he was two in England. By the time he was ten, it became apparent that he was filled with glibness and charm. Actually, it was a tad unnerving to see a boy his age act the way he did - calm, breezily casual, getting anything he really wanted with a sweet smile and a ‘please?’. The boy always searched for some adrenaline booster, exciting, scary, out-there. But… At the same time, he seemed unmotivated. Sure, he did well in school and made goody-goody with others. But he always seemed to lack any want to care. When they finally realized that, they came a beat too late, and it was impossible to stop what had happened.
At eleven, around the time Gerard’s brother was six, he decided he did not want a little brother. He did not want to watch the sickeningly cute little boy get doted on every waking second of his life. In return to the conclusion, he did everything in his little mind’s power to keep the boy at a distance, emotionally scarring him for some form of amusement. He would taunt and tease, snicker and push and prod. In the end, that never went very far; the boy wasn’t worth his time.
In a mildly weird, morbid kind of way, his parents were scared by the time he hit thirteen. Not only were they scared for him - such a precious boy, they would say - but they were scared of him. This was probably brought on by sudden changes in him. Not really changes - because they had just never noticed them. Their ‘darling’ charming, sweet son was becoming far too… abnormal for their tastes. He had gotten more calculating, violent, irresponsible, and oddly regretless.
It was also around that time that the eight year old Cecil was yearning for some approval from the older brother he’d ‘never had’ in a sense. The teen seemed to lack the capacity to really care about any of his family anymore, much less about him. The only way to impress Gerard - as he had told his little brother as what was, at the time, a joke - was to “Go jump off a bridge, or something equally insane and dangerous looking.” And he did.
Little Cecil jumped off a bridge, headfirst, broke his neck, and died. Or maybe he drowned. The family didn’t want to know. Now, being the cunning little rat he is, Gerard neglected to mention why his baby brother did what he did. Funny thing is, he didn’t feel the typical remorse. Not even a speck of caring, really. When he didn’t change - attitude or otherwise - after a whole year from his brother’s death, his parents went him to get ‘help’; of a sort.
The woman - who looked very much like a man, especially with such a ‘stache - went on to inform Gerard’s parents, “Sweeties, I think your son has problems. Nothing I can’t fix, of course. I do believe he is a sociopath.“ Now, it was common knowledge that the teen didn’t find the meds helpful, and seeing that damnable lady every two days did nothing for his temper or attitude in general. In fact, maybe it all made him a little worse in the end.
At fifteen, his parents sent him away. They blamed it on ‘his morals needing fixing’ and a fight. (“Remember that fight, you sent poor Hough to the hospital.” Hough, not that they knew, was a six foot three senior with a big mouth and a bigger fist.) So, they bummed him off on a boarding school. Daze. In truth, the escape would do well for him. He wasn’t much a fan of his family-fat lot of idiots and scum.
Daze, like everything else, did nothing at all to help him. He had become the resident sociopath - or lunatic, depending on who you ask - in a short span of time. The sessions - with a woman named Amadra he didn’t like - had continued, the pills continued. Or, they had. More recently, the brunette has taken to skipping a few. Slowly, steadily breaking off from them.
Since coming to Daze, Gerard has learned one thing. “Emotions,” one could quote from him, “Are for the birds.” Not that he would state any specific bird. It wasn’t really necessary, considering there was only one bird of a sort in his life. On-again-off-again-never-actually-off girlfriend, Skylar Valentine. Anyone would say they were close, really. But in all likelihood, Gerard would deny it (even if he did put up with idiotic nicknames and weird ‘relationship’ things)

[/b]APPEARANCE:Gerard isn’t exactly tall, maybe average height for someone his age. He isn’t really tan, either, though far from abnormally pale. His hair is a light brown, dark brunette when wet, and sometimes seemingly black at night. His eyes change color with the light as well, either a dark emerald or a rough brown. Gerard keeps to no particular style, though avoids anything too flashy. Normally he’ll stick with a pair of darker jeans, maybe slacks, and a button-up (usually white or black). Sometimes he might also wear a sweater-vest, though not often. Usually, he grabs a jacket to accompany an outfit as well.
