HISTORY: Zane was born in Australia, into a family where his parents were struggling artists and his sister was his protector. At a young age, he was exposed to all sorts of art. Everywhere he went, paintings were present. Satchel loved to dance, and would put on shows for him. He was always being read to, anything from C.S. Lewis to Alfred Tennyson. Although Zain was young, he always preferred the poetry books over others, dragging them to his parent's bed night after night, begging them to read to him. Luckily, he received parents that nurtured every sort of artistic yearning their children had. By the time he was six, he had heard the many poems so many times, he could recite a few of his favorites.

Moving to many different countries has its perks. Satchel, Zain and Oriana were exposed to different cultures and types of food. The three had no problem speaking different languages, their parents teaching them a different language each time they moved countries. Unfortunately, they didn't stay in one place for long. If the art Zain's parents made wouldn't sell, the whole family was uprooted.

When they moved back to France, Zain was nine and loving life. He could see so many wonderful things, read almost anything, and passed the time exploring so many beautiful things. That is, until the accident. The family was at the zoo, just minding their own business, when a tiger managed to escape. Zain, thinking the animal was tame, was excited and ran to the tiger, excited. Until it mauled him. His world went dark as he blacked out from loss of blood.

Turns out that Zain lost his eyesight, and has been blind ever since. After that, it didn't matter where they moved because he couldn't enjoy anything anymore. When his parents shipped Satchel off to California, he begged to go as well, unable to stand the idea of losing his only lifeline to the world.

And that's how he arrived at Daze.

APPEARANCE: Zain always wears either plaid button up shirts or plain colored t-shirts. He doesn't like the scars on his legs, so the boy is never caught in shorts, even in the hottest of days. Zain is a little chubby, his face showing in its roundness. His hair is always neatly combed and styled, and he never leaves anywhere without his shades. He gets Satchel to match his clothes so it won't be apparent that he's blind.
