HISTORY:
It was the 4th of Febuary, 1994, nine fourty five at night and the streets poured with a hard spell of rain. The only thing that could be heard throughout the streets were the footsteps of Alina Mesas. She had a car seat swinging carefully by her side, which she clutched with one hand while trying to hold her coat together with the other. She made it to the doorway of her mother and father's home. Checking that the lights were on in the house, her father watching the football in the living room while sipping a can of beer, she gently set the car seat down beside her next to the door. She sighed down sadly at her son, who lay there asleep perfectly unbeknown to everything that was happening around him. She kissed the top of his head and murmured to him softly, tears welling up in her eyes. Then she rang the doorbell, turned, and ran, holding her face in her hands as if she couldn't bear to look back. Inside, Carlos swore to himself as he approached the doorway and opened it wide, peering out in confusion. At his feet the baby squinted at the sudden light and cried out. Carlos was surprised to see the grandson he'd visited that very day in hospital for the first time, when both he and his mother weren't due out of hospital for nearly a fourtnight. He took him in and got his wife, Isabella, to get the kid warm while he tried phoning the baby's mom. She wouldn't answer her phone. After phoning the police, they decided it would be best if they looked after the baby until his mother was found. Isabella was very religious and very into the bible, so they called him Moses.
Moses's dad, José Melas or "Massacre" as he was more commonly known as, was a maniac. Moses's mom Alina had divorced him after he'd been arrested at long last after the family spent most of their lives on the run. José had been wanted for many charges, although murder and drug dealing were among the most. However, growing up Moses took more after his mother. He was carefree, happy, bubbily, outgoing, he enjoyed simpler things, and he didn't often complain. He was hyper, and drove his grandparents mad most of the time despite how much they grew to love their precious grandson. From he could toddle around he instantly got stuck into things, so Isabella and Carlos were worn out and reguarly ran around after him yelling "NO, Moses, NO!" or "MOSES, DON'T TOUCH THAT! No! Pappy says NO!" Isabella and Carlos expected that their grandson would be returned to their daughter, but she was never found. Shortly after Moses's second birthday, her car was found by the side of a cliff, and, as much as they prayed it wasn't true, various amount of her possessions including her watch, bag, and shoe were found smashed up at the rocks. Moses was now their permanant responsibility.
Despite the unfortunate downfall of his parents, Moses had a perfectly happy life. The only large, unexpected thing that happened in his life happened when he was 7 years old. José broke out of his prison cell and escaped to an unknown place. A search party immediately went out, but there was no luck for weeks. That was when a prison officer came out and said that José had went on and on about how he had to get out and meet his little boy, because his wife and he divorced before the baby was born. The police told Isabella and Carlos who immediately asked for police protection for Moses. They knew José loved Moses, but he was a physco. He wouldn't deliberately hurt him, but.....
However, the protection was in vain. José got into Mose's school, posing as an electrician, and caused a faulty gas leak to get everyone out in a hurry so they wouldn't notice when he snatched Moses. He took his son out back, while Moses kicked and screamed and yelled for his teachers. José tried explaining to Moses but he just looked blank. He didn't reconise his dad at all, didn't reconise his voice even when José tried singing the lullaby to his son that he had done with him when he was in his mother's womb. He just saw José as a complete stranger. José was furious, not at Moses, at everyone else who had encouraged him to forget about him while he was in prison. He took him as a hostage for escape until he managed to get onto a ferry, pointing his gun in all directions in front of him and then to Moses's head. Luckily the police had managed to get around the back and shot José on the back of the head, Moses was released and José taken to the hospital, and then back to prison.
Up til now, Moses's life has stayed completely average. He has enough mates, got his heart broken, got a job, trying to forget exactly what his dad did to him that day even though it still pops up as nightmares sometimes. Daze High was advertising in the newspaper one day and he decided to enroll. It was perfect. Even though he would miss his Pappy and Mamma, he needed to get away. Perhaps he would finally be able to shake it out of his head that he was Moses, the son of a well-known and very feared maniac.
