HISTORY:

Gretchen was raised on her grandfather’s horse ranch. She lived there with her grandfather who spoiled her and gave her whatever she wanted, her parents. Her parents were too busy in their own lives to have anything to do with Gretchen, which suited her fine in the long run. Who needed parents hanging all over them and telling them what to do! Her mother Claire was always running around doing the society, or charity thing, while her dad Nate was out-of-town, whether from business or pleasure was anyone’s guess.

She was a cheerleader and a barely passing student. Gretchen isn’t too bright and some would even consider her to be an airhead. Her main focus was cheering and hot guys, and she lived for nothing but cheering until the fell for the older, mysterious, Sy Fuller. Actually it was his car Gretchen noticed first. Orange and black mazada… it stood out. And while she was admiring the car, the owner caught her eye. Neither her grandfather or her mother approved, so she started seeking out.

Gretchen was caught seeking back into the house after attending a race with Sy. They forbid her to see him again and threatened to ship her off to a boarding school if she didn’t stop. She didn’t stop, just changed her tactics. She started being late to cheerleading practice and using her friends to for excuses or to help her lie.

Then her world was turned upside down. Gretchen’s grandfather Malcolm Montgomery died, and they found out about Sy. Although he left the house itself to Gretchen, the ranch went to her cousin, to run. Her parents not knowing what to do with her anymore sent her off to attending a boarding school, Daze. All the way in California, where her father spent a lot of his time.
