HISTORY:

When the train pulled in to the crowded station and Edie was forced to depart the carriage, she was feeling dubious. She was leaving France for the first time, and moving somewhere completely different. She wasn't sure she could adjust.

Born in a modest house in Bordeux to a doctor father and a mother who managed an art gallery in the centre of town, Edie had always found she came second to her parents' jobs. Due to her mother, she grew up with an appreciation for art and began to nurture her own talent for drawing. As a young child, she endlessly scribbled her versions of her home, her primitive family portraits, her little stickmen and girls in triangular dresses. From the beginning, she knew all she wanted to be was an artist.

However, things didn't exactly go to plan. When her only brother Jac was born, any money that would have went towards sending Edie to art school was poured into raising the baby. Giving up her job, Edie's mother became a housewife, a decision that resulted in post-natal depression. Edie's house became a tense place; alive with arguements and the screaming of a baby. Edie became reserved, slinking into solitude, spending most of her days drawing alone in her bedroom.

Eventually, Edie's father abandoned her mother, leaving the remaining family in a house they could not afford with no money coming in. Forced to claim bankruptcy, things appeared they would get no worse. But this was not the case. At age 13, Edie fell into the lake neighbouring her home, struggling to keep her head above water for what seemed like an eternity before her mother found her and dragged her from the frigid water.

Finally, Edie's mother snapped and was determined that she and her two children needed to find somewhere else to live- the memories of Edie's accident and her break-up with her husband too strong to deal with. Finding a job abroad as an art gallery curator, she packed up her family and left France for a new start- towing her children along with her. From then, that was the last time Edie saw her father, as well as her family home in Bordeux.

APPEARANCE: Well known for her pale, practically translucent skin and the shock of pink that colours her hair, it's safe to say that Edie is noticeable in a crowd. She was blessed with the high cheekbones of her French ancestors, but her penchant for neon eyeshadow definitely contradicts her classic looks. But, it's safe to say she wants to look anything but 'classic'.
