FAMILY: None, he's an orphan although he and James are tight enough to be siblings.
HISTORY: Zimba wasn't always alone in this world. He had a mother and a father. He never knew his mother though. She walked off one day when he was little. He has faint memories of his father though. Mostly of how he died, rather than how he lived. Zimba had wandered into traffic one day in New York City. Fasa, his father ran out into the street and literally threw Zimba back onto the sidewalk. Unfortunately, Fasa was too late to save himself. By the end of the month Zimba was set up in the closest orphanage.
The orphanage wasn't that bad, if you didn't mind threadbare cots and bug infested rooms. Zimba had taken upon himself the air of a gangsta, and he liked it too. He acquired the odd pronunciations of simple words and the degrading lingo. Suffice it to say he didn't make too many friends inside those termite infested walls. Lack of friends, lack of structure, lack of family, all of it contributed to his very long list of schools and his *cough-questionable-cough* "pastimes."
Zimba got mixed in with the gangsta crowd after he tried to steal a hummer. The hummer belonged to the head of the area's gang. Instead of making a big production out of killing him, the gang head decided he could use Zimba's kleptomatic skills. That's when Zimba met James. They got along really well, always watching each others backs. They could emphasize with each other. Neither of them really had a family. As much as Zimba wished he could have been, he was not there when James was arrested. Soon after that incident, with the head in custody, the gang disbanded because another leader could not be chosen. Even with the gang out of the picture, academically, Zimba still did not improve.
It was either in his fourth or fifth school (why bother keeping track?) that Zimba met Nilla. She fit in with he style perfectly. Besides James, she was his best friend. There were even occasions when he wondered if they could even be more. Nilla was a great girl, the only person he took near the orphanage, a privilege that not even James was awarded. Despite the beginnings of stability with his new friends, Zimba just could not make the cut in the world of academics. He has flunked out of more schools than any other kind in the orphanage. Finally, the trustees of the last school and the orphanage decided that Daze would be the best place for a fresh start. And so here he is, ready to take on the next challenge.

APPEARANCE: Zimba is white. Like, lily white. But he likes to think he's African, hence his Afro. His eyes are very dark brown, almost black. He has the traditional "white boy" appearance, thin nose, almost full lips, even *cough, cough* girlishly long eyelashes. He has a thing for African inspired shirts but refuses to wear anything except jeans, most of which are torn. His sneakers have more holes in them than Swiss cheese. You won't see him without his white jacket that is patterned with golden dollar signs. He likes to dress to match his "gangsta" persona.
