HISTORY:
This is Persephone Rivera, a half greek- half American teenager. Her family is huge, though not really on her dad's side. Her mother, Epione, is greek and her maiden name was Mariopoulos. Her father and mother met when he was on a cruise in Crete. They fell in love almost instantly and bam! Persephone and her older sister, Rhea, were conceived.

Persephone grew up in an elaborate loft on the Upper East Side of New York City. She enjoyed the priveleged life that many others wanted, that many others couldn't have. She also made sure that everyone knew of her family's wealth - being rather arrogant, even as a small child.
Her parents easily paid for the best tuition they could afford for both her and her six year older sister, Rhea.

Persephone knew that her name was a slight mouthful, even for those who knew about the origin of the name, namely, one of a goddess from Ancient Greek mythology. She commonly likes to shorten her name to Sephy.
Sephy had a relatively untroubled youth. She was always popular, whether for her money or for her character is out of question, in school. In junior High she was the captain of the dance team. The one thing she never talked about was that she was attracted to both sexes. She only ever dated boys, to camoflage that fact.

It was when Sephy turned thirteen that her father became an alcoholic. She suffered at first verbal abuse whenever her father had a particularly rough day at work (that he quit later) and after a couple of months, even physical violence. Her mother seemed unable to say or do anything. It was only when her father actually beat up Persephone, that she moved out with Rhea and Perse. Almost as in a joke, Sephy refers to her father as her ex-father.

Now, in order to get Persephone out of a tense household full of anger and depression (her mother went depressed after) her sister decided for her that it would be best if she could get as far away as possible from what she calls "a hell home." Now she is starting over at boarding school in San Francisco. She knows what to expect, or at least, as much as her books about boarding school told her.

APPEARANCE: Persephone is a cute looking girl. Most people think that she couldn't ever harm another person - fly or flower. With her cherubic looking face and whitish-blonde hair, blue eyes and innocent complexion, it isn't very difficult or far-fetched to think that way. She is a short girl, even for her age and almost forces the instinct to protect out of some people. What she doesn't show are the fades, thin scars between her fist and forearm, memories of a distant past - of unhappier times. She usually covers those with watches or bracelets.
