Layla was born on Valentine's Day 1993, to Arianna and George Ryan of Seattle, Washington. Layla grew up and had a normal childhood like all of her peers. Elementary school was normal for the most part but when Layla turned 10 she met Maya at an art show being hosted by the local elementary schools, and from then on out Maya and Layla were the best of friends.
Layla's father being in military made it hard for her to keep friends, which was true in this case as well. Just as Layla was graduating from elementary school her dad got orders to go to Germany. Layla left Maya with a tearful goodbye and prayed to god that she wouldn't lose this friend too.
At age 15 while still in Germany Layla got her first taste of the drug scene and was hooked, she became a heroin addict and her parents had no clue as to why her moods were changing. One day her mom saw the trackmarks on Layla's arm and she decided that she had to cover them up and so she got a tattoo, her first of many that she had done before returning to the states
At age 16 Layla's father retired from the military and they returned to Seattle where she was reunited with Maya. Maya knew the signs of what Layla was doing and convinced her to go to rehab. Layla spent 6 grooling weeks in rehab but came out clean, sober, and with a new appreciation for life.
At age 17 after Maya's mother died and she moved away with her father and little brother, Layla fell back into her old habits of shooting up, drinking, and being out of control. The day that Layla woke up in the hospital she knew that she had to stop and decided to move to San Francisco to live with Maya in hopes of kicking her addiction.
