Appearance:Well, as you can see, her hair is layered and black, the hair being, of course, dyed, not natural. Although a pale complexion, Lissy always has a smile on her face, brightening up her profile. As for clothes, she'll wear what any typical girly teenage female would wear: a variety of short shorts, skirts, jeans, sweats, tank tops, you name it, especially if it's a neon color. Her eyes are light blue, and her nails are always painted.

Personality Overview:
At first glance, Ilyssa Lavender Yannick looks like a scenie bopper-which, to some extent, she is, at least in style. But in personality, she differs far from the norm of the typical 'emo' crowd. The first difference, which is also the one that will become the most apparent quickly, is her level of intelligence. Lissy skipped a grade, now she is sixteen years old and a junior. She is still taking advanced classes, but was told she should not skip to senior year if she were not willing to focus all her time on her schoolwork. Her parents ended up making the decision for her, saying that extracirriculars were just as important and that she needed them in her life to keep her balanced. However, she is still taking senior level classes, such as: Calculus BC, AP Physics, Enriched Essay Writing, French 5, and Contemporary Legal Issues, so she certainly has her hands full with school. Another misconception people have about her is that she is mean. Quite the opposite; in fact, sometimes people may even dislike her for being too friendly. She may not come up and talk to you, but she would never judge anyone for any reason, and as a result she gets along with nearly everyone, regardless of their clique.

Lissy seems to know everyone. This is because of her many activities and people she meets through friends and parties. She has a lot of different classes and activities, and ininvetiably meets people in them.

There are two things that she cannot stand, and these are the few subjects or actions that actually make her angry. First, there is racism and/or sexism. She ignores the petty jokes, because high schoolers don't know any better. But any form of realistic racism or sexism gets her fired up, and you'd better not be standing in her way when she gets into that mentality. On the opposite hand, there are also a few things that she enjoys a lot and that make her content. These include piano, writing, and math. Lissy also enjoys dancing occasionally, (ballroom, hip-hop, and salsa) but has no time to take a class, because her parents don't think that it is worth dropping one of her other activities. If she has any alone time, she may practice dancing. Aside from the undertaken crafts, Lissy is happy when people apologize, or accept her apology.

Ilyssa has few to no habits: She does not bite her nails, because they are always painted, and she doesn't mess with her hair much for fear of messing it up. The only thing that you might consider a quirk in her is the fact that (especially while she is talking to someone) she looks from one side, and then to the other once, then focuses again. The more comfortable she is with someone, the less this will happen when she's talking to them. While doing other things, it may occur about once every five to ten minutes. Lissy is rarely aware that she's doing this, but if it is pointed out to her, she usually stops for a while.

General History:

Overview:

Ilyssa Lavender Yannick was born to Kate Stephenson and Jared Amsling, who were both married at the time of her conception, but unfortunately not to each other. When Jared found out, he insisted that Kate have an abortion. She pretended to, then stayed out of his sight until she was born. Jared refused to talk to her once he found out, and when Lissy was two years old, Kate was pregnant again by a different man. She decided that she couldn't handle the stress of two children as a single mother, nor could she give only one away. So Ilyssa and her half-brother, Holden, were put up for adoption. Soon they were fostered (and later adopted) by Caren and Zackariah Yannick, who had two biological girls of their own already. (Another would be born later.) Now legal, both children took their last name as their own.

Everything was fine and stable until Ilyssa was ten and Holden was eight- about eight long, perfectly normal years- until it was discovered that Mr. Yannick was a relentless drug addict and dealer. He pleaded insanity and got off with three years in prison and two in mandatory rehab. Caren Yannick, in an attempt to get as far away as possible from her now ex-husband, moved to California. She took all five children with her, insisting that Zack was a bad influence on them, which probably was not untrue.

When Zackariah got out, (hopefully fully cured) he married Nicolette Marina, who had also been previously divorced and had two children of her own. Caren and the children went to visit them at this point, but none of them have seen or heard from him since. When Lissy was about twelve, her adoptive mother married Trent Baghley, who had twin boys and another littler boy. All the Yannick children liked him, as well as his three boys, but as a personal choice, did not officially get adopted by him. (Besides, if Lissy changed her last name to Baghley, her initials wouldn't be ILY anymore!)

Now, as a high-schooler, Lissy attends Daze. (She lives in the dorms for convenience, but goes home every third weekend of the month.) In the last few years, Trent has become increasingly successful as a lawyer for celebrities, in a place filled with crime-committing divas and a loving family to support him. Lissy enjoys the freedom. Her parents pay for her schooling and don't force her to have a job, but if she wants any money besides what they give her for necessities, (literally, lunch and school supplies is all they give her money for) Lissy must get over 100% in all her classes, or at the bare minimum, 99%. Additionally, if she wishes to stay at Daze, she can never let any of her grades drop below 90%. Trent Baghley is a nice, caring father, but he is very strict and expects a lot from his children, even if they are not biologically his. For this reason, Lissy must also keep up with piano, acting, guitar, singing, volleyball, and track. Between all this, she interacts with friends and family as much as possible, and goes to pretty much every party or social activity that she's invited to. For this reason, she rarely has time to relax and do things like others do, like watch television or take naps.

Ilyssa was always a very motivated person, but the unwise decisions her adoptive father made convinced her that she would do anything not to turn out like that. Thus, she has never drank a drop in her entire life, nor done a single drug or smoked a cigarette. She loves to meet people, and gets along with just about anyone. She is very bright, and focuses easily. Part of the reason she seems to be able to do everything is that her intelligence allows her to complete her schoolwork quickly. Occasionally, she tutors for extra money, but this is a privalege usually reserved for close friends or family members.

Aside from that, Lissy also cares about looking good. She makes sure to take care of herself and always keep a smile on her face. She believes that there is good inside of everyone, and wants to help that part shine out to the rest of the world. [/left]
