HISTORY:
Mason wasn't always the overly-protective brother that he is now. He was born to his parents as Frederick in New Jersey, while his parents were on a buisness trip. His mother had gone into labor earlier than expected. Weeks later, they returned to England, where lived. As Mason's parents were those living in high society, he was instantly enrolled into a boarding school with his parents' friends' offspring. And they were interesting people.
Mason instantly hated it. He just wanted to be free - Eton was hardly a free place. It was a school of prestige - only the richest and cleverest got into there. Mason was over-worked; he didn't want to be a disappointment. Neither did he want to be a nerd who spent his life infront of a computer calculating impossible equations. He told his parents, and they brought him home, and he was home-schooled when he was fourteen.
Along with his sister, he was homeschooled by a selection of tutors that his mother had chosen from the most elite school in the country. His parents "never had the time" to teach the pair themselves. They were too busy going to parties and keeping their reputation as major businesspeople. Mason thoroughly disliked his parents' lack of care; they treated Samantha and himself like trophies that weren't to be touched. This was the main reason he started using his middle name as his first. He didn't want to be like his father. Mason slowly became a little too attached to Samantha. There was no way he was going to let her get hurt by their parents. None at all.
He went back to school in the next year, but had moved to the same one as Samantha. It was a little less stressful, but he hated it. Mainly because it wasn't as prestigious. Mason used this chance to rebel. He went to raves, made his teachers lives a living hell, and couldn't give a shit. He slept around, breaking girls' hearts, earning him a status as a "heartbreaking trouble-maker". If his parents couldn't care less, then he wouldn't care less. His behavior slowly downgraded his parents reputation enough for his parents for them to withdraw him from the school, just as he wanted. All he really wanted was to be boarding far away from England. With announcements that his parents were heading for a divorce, he and Samantha were sent to Daze, far away from everything.
