HISTORY:
Samantha was born in England to a senior banker, Frederick George, and a socialite Laura George.Her parents were often too busy to care for her, so she was mainly raised by her nanny and older brother. Her education began at the tender age of two at her father's insistence. She was home-schooled through most of her childhood, and when she turned five her father began to tutor her in economics and business. Her mother was less concerned with her education and forced her daughter into horse-riding, swimming and private tennis lessons. Though she gave up swimming after a year, she enjoyed the other sports and carried on with them.
When she was five, Samantha's nanny was dismissed and she began to enter her parents upper class world. Her father would bring her to business events, where he would have her impress his colleagues with her business understandings. Her mother would drag her to high society parties, where she was told to be 'seen and not heard'. During this time, her closest family relationship was with her brother, who began to grow quite protective of her.
Samantha first attended school when she was eight. She had issues fitting in, as she found the work too easy and earned herself a snobbish reputation. She was bullied by her classmates, but her parents weren't bothered to meet with the teacher to discuss it. Her father arranged for her to be home schooled again, planning to send her to a new school in September. However, when they realized that her grades were good enough to boost her up a year they decided to send her secondary school a year early. However, she didn't simply disappear into her own world again- she kept in contact with a few friends she had made in her months at school by going to tennis clubs and horse riding group lessons. It was at this point that Samantha began to realise that her parents cared only for themselves and their image and swore to herself that she would never become like them.
Samantha found herself much happier at her new school, which her brother also attended. She had learned by this point not to appear too eager in class and not to overly talk about economics. However, in Year 9 she became aware that her parents were arguing more and more. It became apparent that the couple had been cheating on each other. Her parents decided it was best to send their children overseas so that they wouldn't get caught up in the divorce proceedings.
